About Nutritional Therapy
Nutritional therapy is a natural approach to health which addresses the underlying causes of health issues by encouraging healing thereby bringing the body back into balance.
The benefits of nutritional therapy include; increased energy levels, weight management: appetite control, improved mood and concentration, improved digestion, stress management, slower ageing and a greater understanding and control of your health.
This naturopathic, holistic approach aims to correct any deficiencies using quality whole foods as medicine. Nutritional therapy draws on the latest scientific research and also takes environmental factors into account. Unlike conventional medicine – nutritional therapy takes longer before the benefits are felt, as the body has to adapt on a cellular level, treating not only the symptoms but the actual cause on a more permanent basis.
The effectiveness of the treatment is partly up to you the client. The more committed and consistent you are the more effective the treatment can be. Treatment can increase energy levels, weight management and appetite control, improves mood and concentration levels, improves digestion, aids stress management, slows ageing and gives you a greater understanding and control of your health.
Many conditions can be relieved effectively with nutritional therapy, these include; chronic fatigue, depression, digestive problems/IBS, fertility and male and female hormonal issues, musculoskeletal, neurological conditions, pregnancy and pre-conceptual care, skin complaints, candidiasis, hay fever, sports nutrition, food intolerances and weight loss.
Use alongside conventional treatment
We are often asked if nutritional therapy can be used alongside conventional treatment. The answer is yes! in fact, quite often an integrated approach to healthcare and medicine can be very effective. If you are seeing a consultant or GP about your condition you are advised to tell them that you are also seeing a Nutritional Therapist.
